Tattoo Healing Rituals
A tattoo is more than fresh ink. It’s a wound carrying a story you chose to keep. The healing ritual matters just as much as the moment the needle stops. Treat your skin with patience, protect the piece, and give it the time it needs to settle into you. Follow these steps during the first two weeks to help your tattoo heal clean, bold, and beautiful. 🖤
Cleanse & Shield
Fresh ink is only the beginning. Cleanse & Shield is the healing ritual that comes after the needle, when your skin needs patience, protection, and proper care. Keep it clean, keep it covered when needed, and give it time to settle into you. The better you care for your tattoo while it heals, the better chance it has to stay bold, clean, and beautiful long after you leave Velvet Grave.
Nurture the Ink
Apply only a whisper-thin layer of the ointment recommended by your tattooist. Your fresh ink needs room to breathe while it heals, so skip the heavy petroleum-based products that can trap moisture and smother the skin. Protect the piece, don’t drown it. 🖤
Protection & Preservation
Keep your fresh ink hidden from harsh sunlight and stay out of pools, baths, and any long soaks while it heals. If scabs appear, let them fall away on their own. Picking at them can pull pigment with them, and we’re trying to keep that ink in the grave, not send it there early. 🖤

-
Age Requirement: You must be 18 years or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions. A $60 minimum applies to all tattoo appointments.
-
Health & Safety: Clean work matters. Every tattoo is performed with single-use, sterile needles and strict sanitation practices to help protect both you and the tattooing space.
-
Studio Environment: The tattoo area is kept clean, calm, and focused. Guests and pets are not permitted in the tattooing space. Service animals are always welcome.
-
Consultations: Custom darkwork takes planning. A consultation may be required to go over your idea, placement, size, details, and pricing before your appointment.
-
Photography: Fresh and healed tattoos may be photographed for the Velvet Grave portfolio, website, or social media. If you want your tattoo kept private, just let me know, and your choice will be respected.
-
No Intoxication: Tattoo services will not be performed on anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Fresh ink requires a clear head, informed consent, and safe decisions.
-
Respect the Ritual: Come prepared, follow your aftercare instructions, and give your tattoo the time it needs to heal. The needle may stop, but the ritual is not finished until the skin has healed. 🖤
How do I book a session?
Booking your session is easy. Head to the online booking portal, choose the tattoo service that best fits what you’re looking for, select an available date and time, and follow the steps to reserve your appointment. Once you’re booked, we can bring your idea out of the shadows and into ink. 🖤
What is your pricing structure?
Pricing depends on the size, placement, and detail of your tattoo. Velvet Grave offers both home-based and mobile appointments, giving you the choice to come to me or have the setup brought to your space. Every piece is reviewed individually, and your final quote will be provided once I’ve gone over your tattoo request. 🖤
Common Queries
Does it hurt?
Pain hits everyone differently, and every body handles the needle in its own way. I do everything I can to keep each session calm, steady, and comfortable so you can settle in and take it one moment at a time. The chair is your space to breathe, trust the process, and let the ink become part of your story. 🖤
Do you have a studio?
Velvet Grave offers tattoo sessions both from my home-based setup and as a mobile service. Whether you come to me or I bring the setup to your chosen space, my goal is to keep every session private, comfortable, clean, and focused. You get the same care, attention, and Velvet Grave experience either way. 🖤
