The Story Behind Velvet Grave Tattoo Studio
There comes a point in life when you stop waiting for the "perfect time" and decide to chase the dream that's been calling you all along. For me, that dream became Velvet Grave Tattoo Studio.
Velvet Grave wasn't built overnight. It was built from a dream I finally chose to pursue. Tattooing has fascinated me for years, and after spending so much time wondering "what if," I realized the only way to grow was to take that first step. It wasn't easy, and I knew I was starting from the very beginning, but every tattooist starts somewhere.
I'm not a seasoned professional with decades of experience. I'm someone with a passion for tattooing who is committed to learning, improving, and giving everything I have to this craft. I currently have only a few months of experience, and I'm proud to be transparent about where I am in my journey. Every tattoo I create is another opportunity to learn, refine my skills, and become better than I was the day before.
Building Velvet Grave has been about much more than learning how to tattoo. Starting a business means learning every aspect of what happens behind the scenes, from customer service and scheduling to branding, pricing, marketing, and creating an experience that people can trust. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, adapt, and work even harder toward the future I envision.
Beyond tattooing, I'm also a proud mom. Motherhood has taught me patience, compassion, resilience, and the importance of creating a welcoming environment where people feel safe, respected, and heard. Those lessons have shaped not only who I am as a person but also the way I approach every client who walks through my doors.
One of the greatest turning points in my life has been my sobriety journey. Choosing sobriety changed everything. It taught me discipline, perseverance, accountability, and the courage to rebuild my life one day at a time. It reminded me that growth doesn't happen overnight, but through consistency, determination, and refusing to give up. Those same values are at the heart of Velvet Grave and guide the way I approach tattooing every single day.
Tattooing is about so much more than putting ink on skin. It's about telling stories. It's about honoring loved ones, celebrating milestones, remembering where you've been, embracing who you've become, or simply wearing something that makes you feel more like yourself. Every tattoo carries meaning, and it's an incredible privilege to be trusted with something so personal.
The name Velvet Grave represents everything that inspires me. It's where beauty meets darkness, elegance meets edge, and softness meets strength. I'm drawn to gothic aesthetics, cemeteries, ravens, skulls, roses, lace, western influences, moons, stars, and timeless symbolism. I wanted a name that reflected that balance while creating a brand that feels unique, memorable, and authentic.
My goal is simple: to create meaningful tattoos in a welcoming, judgment-free environment where every client feels comfortable, respected, and excited about their experience. Whether it's your very first tattoo or another piece in your collection, I want every appointment to be approached with honesty, patience, professionalism, and genuine care.
I know I'm at the beginning of this journey, and I embrace that. Every experienced tattooist was once a beginner who decided not to quit. I'm committed to continuing my education, expanding my portfolio, practicing my craft, and growing with every tattoo I create. Excellence isn't built overnight, and I'm dedicated to earning it one client, one design, and one session at a time.
Velvet Grave isn't just the name of a tattoo studio. It's the story of taking a chance on myself, believing in a dream that refused to fade, and building something meaningful from the ground up. It's proof that new beginnings are possible, that growth comes through persistence, and that the most rewarding journeys often begin with a single leap of faith.
To everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, shared my work, or trusted me with your story, thank you. Your belief in me means more than you know, and every tattoo you allow me to create becomes part of this journey.
If you're new here, welcome to Velvet Grave Tattoo Studio. I'm grateful you're here, and I can't wait to continue growing, creating, and building this dream, one meaningful tattoo at a time.
