A new tattoo is more than a piece of art. It's an investment, a memory, and a permanent part of your story. The way you care for your tattoo during the healing process can make all the difference in how it looks for years to come.

At Velvet Grave Tattoo Studio, I want every client to leave feeling confident, not just about their tattoo, but about how to care for it.

Keep It Clean

Gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Avoid scrubbing the area. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.

Moisturize Sparingly

Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare product. Your tattoo should stay hydrated, but too much ointment can trap bacteria and slow healing.

Don't Pick or Scratch

As your tattoo heals, it's normal for it to itch and peel. Resist the urge to scratch or pick at it. Let your skin heal naturally to protect the artwork.

Avoid Water and Sun Exposure

Skip swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and long baths until your tattoo has fully healed. Keep it out of direct sunlight, and once it's healed, use sunscreen to help preserve the color and detail.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

Loose-fitting clothing helps reduce irritation, especially if your tattoo is in an area that rubs against fabric.

Trust the Healing Process

Every tattoo heals differently. Redness, light peeling, and itching are normal during the healing process. If you notice excessive swelling, pus, or signs of infection, contact a healthcare provider.

Taking care of your tattoo is just as important as choosing the design itself. A little extra care now will help keep your tattoo looking its best for years to come.

Thank you for trusting Velvet Grave Tattoo Studio with your story.

Ink Your Legacy.
